WHAT IS FP?

Foundation Program (FP) is recommended for students who have been attending the centre for at least 6 months and wish to deepen their understanding of Buddha’s teachings through the systematic study of a particular text. Since Septembre 2015, we are now studying the commentary to ‘Eight Verses of Training the Mind’ by the great bodhisattva Geshe Langri Tangpa.

FP gives us the opportunity to engage in a structured meditation and study program on the essential teachings of the buddhist spiritual path, right here, at Kadampa Meditation Centre Montreal.

A Unique Study Program

FP is a program which consist of in-depth study of buddhist texts to gain a profound understanding of Buddha’s teachings. Through contemplations, regular meditations, personal study and group discussions, this program offers a training which compares to that which great practitioners received traditionally but it is adapted to our contemporary lifestyle and modern life.

Through engaging in this program, we will develop and authentic spiritual practice and gain real confidence in our meditation practice. This will allow us to solve simple daily problems as well as learning about deeper practices leading us to unsurpassed happiness and permanent inner peace.

Additionally, through attending the Foundation Programs, students learn to support and inspire each others in their spiritual growth by sharing their own experiences of meditation and contemplating together the teachings.

This Program includes :
  • In-Depth teachings on the text being studied
  • Guided meditations
  • Group and paired discussions
Benefits :
  • Creating strong links with other inspiring students who are studying with us.
  • Allows to go deeper in particular subjects
  • Allows us a deeper understanding of our own meditation practice and the buddhist path.
