Join the Foundation Program (FP) group as we will begin to study the teachings of Kadam Lamrim, the stages of the path to enlightenment, as presented in the book Joyful Path of Good Fortune by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. These instructions are at the heart of Kadampa Buddhism. Do you wish to deepen your understanding and practice of the teachings you receive at KMC Montreal? This program is for you!

It is strongly suggested to have attended 6 months of regular general program classes before joining the FP. However, this introduction is for everyone.

Free Introduction & trial class
On November 10, 2020, we will hold an introduction to the FP given by the main teacher at KMC Montreal, Gen Kelsang Chögyan. In this special class (given in French), she will explain what the FP is, the commitments for enrolling in this study program and how it can help us in our daily life. The following week, on November 10, you can then join for a free trial class.

WHAT IS THE FP?

The Foundation Program (FP) is designed for people who have been learning through the Centre regularly in the General Program (GP) for at least 6 months and who wish to deepen their practical experience of Buddha’s teachings.

The book currently being studied is Joyful Path of Good Fortune, a step-by-step explanation of the entire Buddhist path to enlightenmentKadam Lamrim. This extensive commentary on the instructions lies at the very heart of Kadampa Buddhism. The Foundation Program gives us the opportunity to engage in a systematic study and structured meditation program on the essential teachings of the Buddhist spiritual path, right here at KMC Montreal.

Call us at 514-521-2529 if you need any information.

A Unique Study Program

Designed by a fully qualified meditation master, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, this program follows in-depth study of Buddhist texts to gain a deep understanding and personal experience of Buddha’s teachings. Through contemplation, regular meditation, personal study and group discussions, this program provides training comparable to that of the great practitioners since Buddha’s time, but adapted to our modern-day reality and lifestyle.

By engaging in this program, we will develop an authentic spiritual practice and gain great confidence in our meditation training, from basic techniques to overcome our everyday problems to the very practices that lead us to the unsurpassed happiness of permanent inner peace.

By being part of the Foundation Program, we will also have the precious opportunity to build inspiring relationships with other students through the example and experience of each.

This program includes:

  • In-depth teachings on the text being studied
  • Guided meditations
  • Paired and group discussions

What I will learn:

  • To maintain a peaceful, positive mind no matter life’s circumstances
  • To develop my wisdom daily
  • To cultivate a good heart in all spheres of my life
  • To deepen my experience of Kadampa Buddhist meditation and teachings
